CH-47C Chinook picking up the XCH-62 to transport it to the US Army Aviation Museum at Fort Rucker, Alabama from Mobile in 1987.

The unflown Boeing-Vertol XCH-62 prototype, a sort of oversized flying crane. It was the largest helicopter ever built in the western countries. After its cancellation the XCH-62 was displayed at the US Army Aviation Museum (Fort Rucker, Alabama) until some IDIOT (idiot is even a too mild word) decided to scrap it in 2005.

  1. That XCH was really impressive walking around/under. It was really a shock when it was cancelled, no rumors, no warning, just pack up your tools and get off the ship in the middle of the shift.
