Harley-Davidson is offering a free H-D Riding Academy New Rider Course for all current and former U.S. military personnel. The offer runs May 16 - September 13, 2015

Never ridden before? Don't sweat it. The Harley-Davidson® Riding Academy New Rider Course is designed to get you comfortable on a bike and give you the skills you need to ride with confidence.

Offered at select H-D® dealers, the New Rider Course provides you with expert guidance from Motorcycle Safety Foundation® (MSF) and H-D certified coaches.

In the classroom, you'll get to know the motorcycle you'll be riding and learn the basics of rider safety skills.

On the practice range, you'll learn braking and turning, along with maneuvers like controlling skids and surmounting obstacles. When you're finished you'll get a MSF Basic RiderCourseSM Completion Card. Depending on your individual state this card may exempt you from having to take the riding portion of your motorcycle license test and may also score you a discount on motorcycle insurance. Ask your H-D® dealer and insurance provider for details.

Local news station ponders the safety of the kid... and has me wondering

What is the difference between the above and below?

The helmets, the number of people on the motorcycle, hair color, the shoes, and the potential speed the motorcycles can reach.

Does the bottom photo have you think "just another day in the middle east" but the top photo cause you to think "that kid needs safety equipment like knee guards, elbow guards, and a leather vest"
