well done nose art from a Milt Caniff character in Terry and the Pirates, Miss Burma, an A-20 in the 86th Bomb Squadron which flew out of numerous bases including French Morocco, Sicily, Italy and France.
Christened PALLAS ATHENE in honor of the WACS who had served, and nicknamed "The GI JANE". She had a long active service and flew 3 missions on D-Day, grouping with whomever they could find and hitting secondary targets, because the weather was so bad.

modern versions of nose art, with Star Wars characters some just new versions of WW2 Disney military insignia / patches - and with cool mission symbols on the scoreboard, by Phil Postma
I just posted the original of this last week, the submarine USS Baya, SS 318 https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2025/11/very-unusual-and-out-of-ordinary-disney.html
First I've seen a Civil Air Patrol plane with nose art, and the Flying Tiger motif of the shark tooth grin

more nose art! For B-25s of the 310th and 12th Bomb Groups
The "Pluto" nose art was unique to the plane and not the 12th BG.
B-26 "Fifinella"
391st BG, 575th BS.
The Fifinella design from Disney has been a favorite of mine https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/search?q=fifinella
and Gremlin Gus, an adorable character

hell of a variety in the scoreboard: paratrooper drops, medevac, glider tows, cargo hauls
I guess the top row is troop drops
Damned if I know what the train is for, cargo?
The flag is for Medevac
But the camel was for the Over The Hump runs
So, I don't know what the donkey was for
And the bottom row is towing gliders

Here's something odd... Capt. Belin's cool Jeep had 3 cartoon characters of art, there a lot of photos of, and they even got the back of it when it was towing a trailer!

XXII Corps 67th Signal Battalion Head Quarters - 3rd vehicle
XXII Corps arrived overseas on 30 December 1944 and served to the end of the war
XXII Corps arrived overseas on 30 December 1944 and served to the end of the war
I first came across this Jeep in June of 2020, and here's more photos of it... https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2020/06/the-memphis-belle-jeep-with-great.html
it's the Memphis Belle, and I still haven't figured out what is going on with the huge curved front bumper to grill piece with the nose art
Or the two bottles of wine
