two lawyers used molotov cocktails on a police car in New York City


Two Brooklyn attorneys busted for trying to lob a Molotov cocktail through a police car window during a heated protest over the death of George Floyd also wanted other protesters to firebomb the cops, federal authorities said Monday.

Colinford Mattis, a corporate lawyer and Brooklyn community board member, drove his tan mini-van through a clash between protesters and cops at the 88th Precinct stationhouse in Fort Greene early Saturday as his alleged accomplice, Urooj Rahman, also a lawyer, prepared to fling the incendiary device, federal prosecutors said in a detention memo.

Mattis, 32, and Rahman, 31, had materials to make more Molotov cocktails in their vehicle, police said, and according to a witness who snapped a picture of Rahman with her homemade Bud Light bottle firebomb, they were urging other protesters to also use them.

“Rahman attempted to distribute Molotov cocktails to the witness and others so that those individuals could likewise use the incendiary devices in furtherance of more destruction and violence,” the witness later told authorities.

  1. Somebody better start hanging some of the mofos by their heels. That, or just quit enforcing all the laws. You can't sell me on the fact that all of this is over one guy. They kill a half dozen in Detroit or Chicago on a Saturday night and no one says boo. Overnight these freaks come out of the woodwork spontaneously? This smells like it's been cooked up to order.
