a moment to reply to a critic, and use a brilliant speech excerpt by Pres Teddy Roosevelt (one of my favorites)

Someone with the moniker Smithhere didn't like my news on the Martha's Vineyard charter flight of illegals.
He commented: 

You left out the part where the local residents had no advanced notice ( but Faux News was waiting), yet they housed and fed the immigrants. Only then were they moved to Joint Base Cape Cod which has a village that is usually reserved to house military families, but has also housed Katrina refugees. But hey, why let facts get in the way of a good story. Ok, go ahead and publicly attack me on your site now

I replied (then changed my mind about leaving it in the comments section, because after all, the idiot asked me for a public rebuttal)

So I replied: 

do you have a blog?
No.
Do you run with some news articles on your social media? 
If so, do you let people find the entire story by including many links to various sources that collaborate the information you've presented? Aka, journalism? 
No? 
I do. 
ABC, Fox, Al Jezeera, Today.com, even local news outlet from Texas that broke the story. 
But, you ignored all that, and bitch about how this occurred (I only report on the news, I don't create it) and praise the residents for pitching in, only now, when suddenly the problem is in their front yard, not where it's been a daily occurrence for decades, in the border states of California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, and Florida... where no one from Martha's Vineyard has been affected.
So, those are the facts, I stated facts, just not anything past the headlines. Not the day 2 events, or day 3, or the lawyers, politicians reactions, or the ICE and Homeland Defense reactions.
So, you are on attack mode because I'm not a believer in your religion of politics. I report the news, sometimes.
Do you, ever? 
It IS a good story, it's pioneering a new method of political intervention by changing the first stop of illegals from a border town, to the private island of the megawealthy.
Also, you nimrod, anything I say on my blog, in the fucking comments section, is hardly a public attack. Only about 4 people, other than me or you, will ever read this reply to your invitation to a rebuttal of your complaint about how I choose to report the news... which you were oblivious of the time I did so, before events unfolded that YOU wanted me to, either time travel to learn of and report on ahead of time, OR do follow ups.
I don't choose to do follow ups, and the immense amount of time to waste researching how the illegals get treated, by who, compare that to the way the illegals in California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, and Florida are treated, and follow up on how the Martha's Vineyard volunteers quit caring about illegals the instant there aren't any on the island, ignoring all that cross into the USA unless they suicide fly airliners into the twin towers (21 years ago the week of the Martha's Vineyard charter flight) and how the illegals get treated by the system in place to either deport them, or integrate them, in comparison to the hundreds of thousands in the past 12 months that didn't get the welcome wagon flight to the Massachusetts island, to the open arms of dumbfounded lefty liberals.
I choose to run the news about the averted railroad strike, the civil rights violation in Louisville of Tae-Ahn Lea, the auction of vehicles in Nigeria, record auction results in petroliana, and a flying hoverbike being sold in Japan on display at the Autorama.
You? Did you blog about news?
Nope.

You show up, when I'm busy, and complain that I don't praise your tribe, or do enough to follow up on ONE news event.
Now, I doubt, strongly, that you can see that this is not YOUR news channel, or YOUR news anchor.
Instead, this is MY BLOG.
I'm busy over here.
Idiots like you are always complaining, because you aren't creating anything.

  1. I suspect, an un-intended compliment:
    Nimrod - "Nimrod was a gifted and powerful man used by God to fend off the wild beasts and control their population to protect mankind. He was also gifted with the ability to teach others and lead them." Did a very short google search for nimrod, turns out we have Bugs Bunny to thank for our modern meaning of the word. We know which meaning you intended, just giving you some grief.

  2. After some thought, and I get the story and why it was done, but.....Why isn't someone being charged with human trafficking?? Because to me, that's what it basically was in the end.

    1. I don't see this as human trafficking.... when illegals come into this country, someone, does something, to move them from where they are found, to where they are processed, deported, or whatever.
      Even the island people that helped them, moved them somewhere else.
      So, who was the human trafficker in your unbiased view, the ones that moved the illegals from Texas, or from the island to Massachusetts mainland, and if one, why not the other? Both moved the illegals to where they would get processed, and to where someone with resources would help, away from where there were no resources.
      I think that is an interesting look at the nonsense about human trafficking.

    I'm pretty sure none of the towns along the border received notice when ANY of the over half million illegals came across the border into their town...

  5. You know . I don't always agree with you but when I don't it's not important and I keep my mouth shut . But on this you are not just right but dead on . I grew up In Yuma . I spent time in El Centro and San Diego . My grand mother Ruth used to shoot at the Illegals as they came across the river . We delt with them in our family orchards . This was back in the 40's and 50's . My grand mother was half black and Indian , my grand father was the first white man to married into the family . He was a legal german immigrant . He served under Black jack Persing . I watched as the illegals took over the schools in Yuma . I watched as they took over the schools and jobs in el centro . We went on to Salinas Calif. We watched as they took the schools and jobs There . I'm not talking about anyone that comes here legally . Works to better themself and their family . There is much more to say but I think you know it or at least mostly . My first job was with Garin Co. I drove a Sticher truck in the lettuce . I watched them take that company away from Bob And Bill Garin and they took my job as well .

      Wow, I posted about Pershing!
      We all have so much history, and information, and I hope you write your family biography, somewhere, so your family descendants have the benefit of your knowledge. I'm fascinated!
      Well, I am still going through my family tree, and it's just one of the things I am passionate about (imagine if I was blogging about it, but, not online, and my family was getting as much info as I put on this blog, but only family tree stuff. Yep, that much.)
      as well as history, and the Pershing response team sent to get Pancho Villa was something I posted about a couple times, and Farnum Fish flying for Villa, etc etc.
      So, it's very cool for me to see the connection of what I posted, with your family ancestors.
      Oh, and my paternal great great, etc, grandfather was a German immigrant, and changed his last name when moving out of Canada into the USA, so, that was a complete shock to me, and everyone else in the family, as we had zero information until my family tree project (imagine how much I research here, just as much on the family tree) that the last name was something else until they became US citizens.

      Immigration is a national policy issue, and states shouldn't have to individually deal with it, as they aren't budgeted, staffed, etc for handling illegals. Hey, I get the struggle to find a home, where you can work to earn a living, and provide a better life for your descendents. It just sucks that governments get in the way of that being a simple thing. But the world is a hard place, and not only are other countries handling it different, some are not allowing any immigration at all, not allowing their people to leave, not allowing other people to move in.
      I didn't cause it, I can't solve it, I only do a bit of news on it. 50,000 dollar charter flight to make the problem a headline issue, in front of the entire world, just before politicians declare their run for president, and also, have to defend their immigration policy, and how they reacted to this event.
      Some will bury others in scandal, some will use this as ammo to succeed in polls.
      Hell, I'm glad the immigrants got the Massachusetts liberals to treat them so darn nice, it's never going to be that nice in the reception centers in Texas, or Arizona.
      Maybe this moves the level of treatment to a better benchmark for all illegal immigrants, like the 100k that Obama had to bus around.
