Police in Ohio had a curious encounter with two Amish men over the weekend, pulling over their buggy to discover it had been rigged with a massive stereo system. (thanks Gary!)

Deputies stopped the buggy around 1 a.m. Sunday and found a 12-pack of Michelob Ultra on top of the vehicle with several open bottles inside.

The men's religion; which fundamentally avoids technology, electricity, engines, cars, drugs and alcohol, bailed out of the buggy so fast that the horse continued pulling the empty coach down the road.

As of June 2018, the Amish population in North America stood at an estimated 330,000, an increase of nearly 4 percent on the previous year, according to the Young Center for Anabaptist and Pietist Studies at Elizabethtown College.

  1. Pretty wild to get nailed for open container in a buggy! I wonder if he was sporting a mullet under his straw hat.
