Filming "Bullitt" in San Francisco, 1968

  1. odd how everyone cares about the mustangs they used and no one cares about the chargers

  2. I can only assume the big gas generator on the front bumper is powering all the cameras. And is there someone in the trunk? I see a head

    1. The guy in the trunk is filming what is being passed and what is coming up from behind. can't remember if there is any footage of that in the movie. need to watch it again.

  3. When I look at this picture and see that rigging mounted to the Charger, and the moves it had to do through the streets of San Francisco, The demands that were made on those cars were very high doing these shots. This is why this film is so impressive in it's creative way the chase scenes were done. This particular shot is were the bad guys in the Charger suddenly turn left at the red light to lose Detective Frank Bullitt. You can see McQueen's Mustang behind the '68 Satellite. Look at the spectators watching. Good stuff Jesse.
