I doubt anyone will ever use this as a working unit, ever again, so, it's either going to be a museum piece, or lawn art. I vote lawn art. This Keck-Gonnerman Indiana Special is spectacular
I think that this should be equipped with a storage compartment, removable of course, so that a housewife can go shopping with it. Remember when children were encouraged to buy something with "Be the first in your neighborhood with...?" Well, she'll be the ONLY one in the country.
I bet its all hollow, so, it's all a storage compartment! And, with some mods, you could put packages and boxes in one end, and get them gift wrapped out the other end, like some Grinch Stole Christmas Dr Suess creation
I was going to comment that you must not have vintage threshing bee's there in CA, but Jeff beat me to it. Here in the Midwest there's one in almost every county. It's great fun seeing the partially shaven old guys with new overalls and old tractors arguing over drawbar horsepower ratings... In fact one of the highlights of my calendar is coming up soon - the annual swap meet of a nearby pioneer tractor association. I love spending a day walking around the grounds taking in the old stuff and the characters. I call it 'unintentional street art'.
I've seen few of those old machines here and there (I even saw the remains of one in Australia a couple of years ago) and it continues to amaze me how well that galvanizing holds up.
Maybe they would run it here "Rock River Thresheree". This is 15 miles from where I grew up. Now that I moved 2,000 miles away, I regret never going.

we have them at the steam engine and tractor museum in Vista. I was there, and posted about it, about a dozen years ago
