Exner bought the last unbodied original Bugatti, and used it to showcase his design talents

This ought to be parked next to the Mercer Cobra, and XNR, to show what revisionist design in the 60s came up with, they were his "Revival Cars" https://altdriver.com/people/virgil-exner

  1. Probably not what Ettore had in mind, but it’s pretty damn spectacular.
Great to see the blog still going strong by the way.

    1. Wow, thanks for the compliment! Was there a time you didn't stop by, and just found it's still doing good? Or are you commenting that it's been a long time since you have been reading along and it's still doing good? Or something else?
Either way, Compliment Of The Day!

  2. It’s a classic case of “so much internet, so little time”.
The last time I was around, you seemed a little downbeat and wishing to pass the baton on to somebody else.
Glad you retained your enthusiasm for what is without doubt one of the most interesting and diverse auto blogs out there.

    1. Yep, still looking for someone who will take over the blog, as I am going to learn the guitar, and that will be my huge time commitment and I just won't spend much time on the blog anymore. It's been 16 years, 50,000 posts.
      Thank you!

  3. Thanks for the explanation. I have seen pictures of the car but could not make the connection of how this is a Bugatti.
