Jack S Ingram bought 3 war surplus B 24s, and sold them to other countries





the trio of B-24J Liberators that were acquired by S. Jack Ingram of Dallas, Texas, on 1 February 1954, then subsequently sold out of the country. 

 The trio of aircraft are B-24J-1-NT USAAF s/n 42-78774, registration N79426; B-24J-20-FO 44-48812/N79427; and B-24J-20-FO 44-48838/N79428.

 These Liberators, coincidentally, spent the last half of their Army Air Force careers with the 2523rd Base Unit at Hondo AAF, Texas, and the 3502nd Base Unit at Chanute Field, Illinois a technical school training B-24 pilots and flight instructors

Ingram served in the U.S. Army in France. After leaving the military, he gave up plans to study law and instead joined a traveling minstrel show. He acted in stock theater with several companies before going into film. Ingram first appeared on screen in a bit part in Westward Ho (1935). His first film credit came in the serial Zorro Rides Again (1937).[1] In addition to acting, Ingram was a stunt man, working with horses and cars in films in the early 1930s
