BOAC had a couple of B 24s.... do you think the airline passengers were offered the opportunity to look out the plexiglass tail cone?

  1. Damn,Jesse! You keep getting me back there. Think I said my dad was an RAAF airframe fitter. He served in Darwin from 1943. I recall him saying how he was hooked directly up,because of rarer blood group, vein to vein,to help save a crew man from a Lib.that did not get off the strip. and to get him by air to Sydney for surgery.Yes...The Greatest Generation. Respect.

    1. Wow....
Well, I'm quite terrible like that, always pushing, prodding, and extracting without nonvaccine. It must be why dogs hate me, cats like me, and dentists envy me. HA!
But, enough about me, lets spend a moment appreciating your dad!
      WOW!
If you have a photo of him on the job, share it with me so I can post about him!
IF not a photo of him on the job, a photo that shows what a great guy he was, or a news clipping of his lifesaving moment. He's a life saver, lets not forget, as much or more as the emergency surgeons.
Stories like this are why I often tell people to write their biographies, so their descendants know what is part of their family history, and never forget the terrific things that their ancestors did
