Unfortunately for this bunch their friends let them down. “I’ll Get By” was struck by flack 2/8/1944, some reporting the date as Feb 8, 44 and others August 2, 44. Either way the ship crashed killing seven crewmen aboard her. Three survivors became POW. The link will attach a name to each face in the Jeep.

ummm, I was enjoying the photo, their vitality, and joy of being alive though crew of a warbird. Maybe not so much news of dead and dying from now on? I really love great stories and great photos, so.... hint hint?
You actually do these guys a great service, Jesse, by reminding us of the price of liberty and the fearless individuals who paid it on our behalf. They deserve to be remembered and are with posts of this nature. Keep it up, lest we forget.
