From November 2021 through January, the heavy rainfall turned the expanse into a riot of color and wild patterns. Because the area is a basin with no outlet, runoff from the surrounding mountains—and all the sediment that came with it—has nowhere to go, and will stick around until this shallow new sea evaporates. The discolored water in the natural-color satellite image at top is the result of different kinds of particles carried onto the flat, as well as algal blooms propagating thanks to a sudden burst in nutrients from all the water and organic matter dumped into the basin. The parallel formations that resemble sandbars are likely the result of high winds pushing the water and sediment around.

Thanks for your post! When do they usually do land speed records races in Bolivia?
ReplyDeleteI didn't say they ever had.... I merely said they won't this year because the conditions are not any good.
DeleteBut they do in fact race on them. My mistake for assuming you would have any useful information.
Deleteyou are so ignorant. I didn't say they never have, or never would, I stated that this year they can't, the conditions are no good, it's underwater. If you must feel insulted, if you feel you must be a victim, that's up to you. You're a retard. Now, feel like you're justified? Fine. If you are so bullheaded that you must persist until you're insulted, then, buddy, you've been served.
DeleteI only stated that this year is no good, and that I didn't say they ever had raced there, or never would.
Get your shit together, and go bother someone else
