a 20 yr old built a plane powered by a 74 cu in Harley-Davidson J-series engine in 1927 in Oneida, New York, to win a Modern Mechanix magazine competition. 95 years later that engine is still able to power the airplane





they don't even attempt to fire off the motor until 14:30

  1. Brings up a question about Horsepower and Torque. Which is more important for an aircraft engine. It takes for power to spin a prop with more blades, but does it require more horsepower or more torque?
