1937 Hupmobile, rumble seat coupe

17,000 mile, rust-free Hupmobile Aerodynamic Rumble Seat Model G Coupe is just one of two in existence

The car’s owner was Maple McElvain of Spokane, Washington. There was a newspaper article where she was featured standing next the Hupmobile in front of her house. The article explains how this 94 year woman performed her own oil changes and never drove in the rain.

  1. Never heard of a Hupmobile. That front end and grille gives it kind of that euro look. Great looking car!

    2. they were in business from 1909 until around 1939 or 40, a little longer than the other minor manufacturers... the minors all died from the great depression. They were also known as Hupp, and in 1939-40 shared bodies with Graham Paige to save money. By 1940 there were not many car makers left, and only Willys and LaSalle made it much longer. 3. We knew Maple in the '80's. She was a charter member of the HASSIE Club. The only woman. She said the men kept trying to send her to the kitchen.
