it would seem impossible for people to not know yet, that joyriding a car that is in the dealership for service, won't be ignored by the owner. But idiots are still doing it. All an owner has to do is look at the miles the odometer gained since being dropped off

And the idiots chose to joyride in a Youtube bloggers Corvette. Big publicity mistake

  1. Nervy bastards! I am glad that this man has the ability to catch these bad people. I wonder what the dealership is doing about it.

  2. friend of mine took his Nissan minivan to a stealership for service and a couple weeks later when they pick it up they notice it has an extra 900 miles on it.
turns out the mechanic took his family to Panama City florida in it for vacation.

    1. OMFG. Did your friend get any compensation from the dealership?

  3. One word: editing. There wasn't 35 minutes of video worth watching here.

  4. The worst part of the video is that it wasn't edited! That's a 10 minute video at best.

The tech shouldn't have taken his co-worker along for the ride. He was not reckless or sustained. It would seem reasonable to me that a performance car test drive would include seeing that the car pulls like it should up to 100mph.

    1. there is the realistic test drive of a fast car, but, the dealership would be able to state clearly that every test drive will consist of this or that, at what speed, and for anything over the speed limit, a test on a track, with drivers that are vetted (lol) for high speeds over 100 mph, to determine that this and that feel right, respond correctly, and with data being analyzed from on board diagnostics computer to verify work was done right.
There's a lot of fast cars with all the Vettes, HellCats, Camaros, Mustangs, GTRs, etc.
I expect a lot of them don't need a high speed run, but sure are capable of them. Dealerships haven't don't a great job with pr.

  5. Read the comments on youtube -very enlightening. 99% said, "What abuse"? 34 miles to check out sub-electronics, etc? 104 MPH? Big whoop... Guy's a crybaby.
