It's interesting to look up on Google street view and see what it looks like today, at least one of those buildings still stands and the wide median is still there.
What an amazing change in just a year and a half. Wouldn't happen today! They have been working on an intersection realignment near our house for more than three years and not even close to finishing, LOL.
