I know this probably doesn't fit here, but the picture of "It's easy with a Triumph" the two guys chasing a flying saucer on a Triumph. Isn't it interesting how much the saucer looks like one of the Hanibu projects the Nazi's were working on. Did the artist know something about that project? Hmm. 🤔

DeleteHe was my grandfather too. We have some pieces spread out across the family. I also have a scrapbook of all the cuttings he took from the Motorcycle Magazine. Stories? Well the best known one was his response to Walt Disney who offered him work on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, pre WW2 in California. He turned it down. My mum said it was because he said he was an English man and didn't want to leave the Uk. My cousin was told by her dad, my uncle, that it was because he didn't think the film would be a success!!

ReplyDeleteTo the couple people on here who are the grandchildren of Alex Oxley — I have some original art by Alex Oxley that I'd like to feature on my online publication about cartooning, which is currently a non-commercial publication, but in case I make it subscription-based at some point, I'd like to secure permission to feature the art. Would either of you be able to give me permission to do that? It would also be really nice to include a bio for him as well, if you're able to provide a little info on his life and career - I haven't been able to find too much info on him online.
