Only in Toledo, a film by Dan Lior, about DeShawn Willis, who ain't giving up, he's got a business, and customers counting on him.

It all started a photo that was shared on Facebook in May,

making fun of Willis stopped at a light in Toledo with his motorized bike pulling his equipment for his lawn care business.

Willis responded with his own social media post, which was spotted on Blackout Tuesday by documentary filmmaker Dan Lior, and it has turned into thousands of dollars in donations and support from all over the world.

DeShawn Willis' story has captivated people from all over. His grit, hard work and dedication are getting him recognition that is well deserved.

This is the get to know a person effect. When you feel you know, understand, or relate to someone more than a random face in the crowd, you can empathize with them.

A GoFundMe was created in May that was intended to allow for $42K for a new truck, $6K for a new trailer, and $5k for all new equipment.  https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-deshawn-willis-small-business

  2. That's great that he does what he has to do to get to his mowing jobs. I hope that he is able to expand his business and create more jobs in the future.

  3. He does have the American dream, he said it as clearly as I've ever heard 'you have to make it for yourself.'
