It probably looked like

by the way, she's still alive. She sold the car to a guy named Don Edwards, or the editor of Fabulous Mustangs Magazine, Jeff Tann. The Mustang was hers for 22 years, and had AC

but I also ran across this:

and now I'm wondering about this car. 1968 Bonneville? 1969 Catalina? Pontiac was a big promoter of I Dream Of Jeannie, and the main characters, Jeannie and the astronaut had a couple of them, one was a 1968 Bonneville

Update Feb 2019, here is Barbara Eden painting the car!

  1. The things I learn from you blog Jesse. I didn't know Barb had a Mach 1 Mustang. On a side note, what an incredible woman, and what a career.

    1. Pssst! I tell you a secret, I just found out too! Oh, she was a favorite of mine, that show's concept of a magic beautiful woman that could make anything happen? That was just brain candy to me as a little kid in the 70s. I was 5 or 6 when I started watching that show... there were some cool and marvelous tv shows back then, the Munsters, Jeannie, Land of the lost! It was a good time to be innocent, and ignorant of the shitty world. Just a dumb kid and a tv show about a magic genie, and saturday morning cartoons. I didn't have a great childhood, but for a moment, it was ideal - and nothing burst the bubble of ignorance. It was leave it to beaver, lassie, and Roy Rodgers, you know?

  2. The Pontiac is a 1968 in both pictures. The 1969 had the body-colored Endura vertical nose piece, where the 1968 is all chrome.
