you probably don't remember the 1978 Dodge Magnum, it wasn't very interesting, not much was in the 2nd half of the 70s. Anyway, I just learned of a special edition, and it's very interesting, because it's based on a Car Craft magazine project! Only magazine project I know of that has resulted

the Magnum Force was born as a project car by Car Craft Magazine.

The latter described the vehicle as "race-oriented and street-worthy through visual touches alone" and used NASCAR's 1978 rule book to enhance aerodynamics. The project car emerged with beefed-up fenders, a front bumper, a big deck-lid spoiler, and a striking stripe package.

Impressed with the car, Dodge decided to offer something similar, and the Force Magnum became available as a dealer-installed package. Owners could also buy the kit separately and install the parts themselves.
