watching Full Speed (the Netflix NASCAR tv series) and learning about racing in the 2023 and 2024 seasons

and learned that the pit crews are hired from college and NFL football players.

They have the athletic competitive spirit, they are in athletic physical condition, and they are damn fast and precise in their body movements

By the way, it's a riveting tv series.

I didn't know a damn thing about any of the racers, cars, etc. Now? I might be a little bit conversant about Logano, Chastain, Bell, Blaney, Hamlin...

One of the cool stories in season 2, is that of Harrison Burton, the driver lowest in the points, already fired and contract terminated with his team, wins Daytona. And his dad, was one of the 3 announcers in the booth. So, now, he's won, his dad, famous Jeff Burton, and uncle, Ward Burton, welcome him to the family inner circle of race winners, trophy holders. That's cool!

  1. I saw recently that NASCAR teams sent scouts to Clemson University's Pro Day, which is an opportunity for NFL teams to evaluate the football players.
