Wow,is that Cyclops driving light attached to the steering,to better see into corners? That would be the earliest form of that that i'm aware of!
the mechanical stuff they did, useful, and easily understood, just fascinates me. You're a great observer of that detail, and dang it, I wish I had time to try and research when the earliest tracking headlight was installed on an automobile...
