I don't think that all these ridiculous toaster shaped rich people movers are going to solve any problems

this Hyundai can crabwalk

notice the similar exterior pods for the wheels

the Holon booth had a pretty cool way to get the company name across:

  1. i was looking at the LA metro system last night and the amtraks. if you use these to get a couple miles to the train AND they improve integration with using multiple modes of transport they could be really useful.

  2. I read an article recently about the Holon vehicle that was touting that it was designed by Pininfarina. It also said it would mainly be used like a shuttle bus. That makes some sense for an autonomous vehicle, because it would be kept to limited routes and easier to manage. I don't think the people riding the van will care who designed it, as long as it gets them to their destination safely.

Holon doesn't seem to have any name recognition yet. I forgot their name from the article I read, and I had to add "Shuttle" to my Google search to find the right one.

  3. those pods covering the wheels make the federally required commercial vehicle daily pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections impossible.
