A lot of motorcyclists criticize sidecar bikes for 'having all the drawbacks of a car, an none of the advantages of a motorcycle'. It's a 'glass half full or half empty argument'.
Being an avid fan of both types of transport, I find that sidecar rigs advantages are numerous; increased carrying capacity, stable on slippery surfaces like gravel, snow or ice, still has the aesthetics of a motorcycle, makes people around you smile and think you're a nice person, kids love riding in the chair, and - very important - so unusual that car drivers really notice it and do not pull out in front, like so often happens with solo bikes.
