  1. Even after the War, we still collected our aluminum foil. Chewing gum, for example was wrapped in aluminum foil ands then paper. We sold our aluminum foil for five cents a pound to help the War effort and to return to a peacetime economy. Old aluminum pots were MORE than welcome!
