He Jesse Yes! Well, i asked myself severel times about this. It´s an great and simple solution. Somtimes they do on stock, but i guess that this usefull thing is to "expensiv" at the end. Maybe it´s quiet cheaper to make a Oilpan from sheet metal instead of cast Iron/Aluminum. An hey, so you can buy an extra Oil-cooler for your engine. A double win for the factory. Horray.... On my old Daily they have such fins on the Oilpann - but a couple of Years later, they were gone. Early 3.4 liter Jaguar engines have a fined aluminum oil pan for cooling. As I recall my Xk120 carried 12 quarts in that aluminum pan, also for added cooling.
