I watched this a couple times, and noticed that he hit the ground on the far side of the road and may have tore through the road....
he definitely stress tested the suspension and tires... it's amazing they didn't blow out.

ReplyDeleteOn the B-52 main landing gear doors have a frangible tip to keep from damaging the entire door if it came into contact with anything. We used to jokingly call them "hard landing indicators." I'd say the indicators in this case are the length of the skid marks in the pilot & copilots underwear.

DeleteYeah been through a few, C-130's mostly, where I thought I'd have the main gear up my ass. (Love those troop seats). Worst was a 727 that caught a windshear on approach.
