When did guys start storing all their tools in boxes, instead of putting them on the wall? When jobs stopped being a lifetime guarantee, with a pension?
dang it. That is very likely the exact reason companies started requiring mechanics to provide their own tools, which led to mechanics buying a roller tool box. The source of that switch from wall mount to tool box, and company owned tools to mechanics... theft. I hadn't even thought of that
that and when other mechanics and customers started borrowing your tools and forgetting where they got them.
