a demonstration ramp in the 1902 Indianapolis car show (thanks to Steve! )

this reminds me of the ramp that went from a parking lot OVER a car show hall building that I posted years ago, it was important to prove how capable one car maker was compared to the competition. Jeep and Land Rover still have demonstration ramps at a few events, like SEMA, occasionally, I've posted them too

    1. Thank you! I found the top image, and knew that there was a great story, but couldn't find anything online, and Steve found where everything else was in a 1902 newspaper. Years ago I found similar car show ramp that was built over a building at the car event. It must have been roughly in the same first decade, as they were all trying to show how capable their car was of hill climbing and how good the brakes were on the downhill side
