  2. This should be a postage stamp. The first in a series commemorating the ignored crumbling infrastructure of our country, that would include images such as the fallen Interstate 35 bridge in Minneapolis, and landscapes of pot-holed pavement.
Yes, I know the railroad bridge is owned and maintained by a private corporation that seems to care little about the safety of it's employees or surrounding communities but it's just such a compelling image that it gains inclusion in my imaginary series.

    1. You're brilliant. Terrific idea. Potholes, failed or soon to fail bridges, frost heaves (not many people are familiar with these) destroying roads and highways, other erosion issues like the Oroville Dam, and other bridges like that one with the huge crack - The I 40 Hernando De Soto Bridge,, the Fern Hollow Bridge, the levy system that failed New Orleans poorest areas. Empty reservoirs might show the lack of civil engineering programs to cope with droughts, cracked and rusted bridges show the lack of regular inspections and upkeep, potholes show that cities won't send out patch teams (or just repave for pete's sake)
