4 decades ago a 10 year old kid dreamed of owning a 1969 Dodge Charger, and he bought it in 1982 - and this year celebrates 40 years of ownership

His walls were lined with pictures of his favorite driver who drove a 69 Charger - Dick Landy.

At age 14, the kid bought his first 69 Charger and restored it just in time to drive it to high school.

Years later, his boyhood driving hero, Dick Landy was giving a reminiscent Performance Clinic and talk at an event, and the guy attended with his Charger. After the event, he met Landy, who couldn’t believe the collection of Landy items acquired by the kid.

Landy signed every piece of memorabilia including the trunk deck of the Charger, and after signing it, he said, “Ok, now that I’ve signed your car...Can I drive it?”

Dick Landy not only drove the car he'd inspired the guy to get as a kid, but personally gave instructions IN IT on doing burnouts and drag racing.

  1. Here in Brazil there is a collector who has more than 300 of these Dodges. Of all models produced and imported to Brazil. His name is Alexandre Badolato. In addition to these models he has other cars produced in Brazil with chassis number 00001. It is worth checking out and posting on his blog.
