Around noon, near highway 64 and US 141 by Green Bay Wi, a chain reaction of two dump trucks, an empty logging truck, a box truck... crashed into a train at a railroad crossing ( crossing U.S. 141 in dense fog )...derailed the train

A rear-end crash pushed vehicles into a passing train, causing the train to derail, knocking it off the rails and killing the driver of the box truck.

Visibility was estimated between 50 and 100 feet.

At least 2 vehicles hit the train from the other side of the top photo, no info on if vehicles hit it from this side

  2. So, I live about 2 hours southwest of where the accident happened and work about an hour south in Appleton.
I can confirm the fog was really, really bad Wednesday morning as I had to drive through it to get to work. Growing up in the Central Valley of California (Modesto area) where we have the infamous Tule fog all winter, I know bad fog.
I am very surprised the train would have crossed that road in such bad conditions. If it really needed to cross, they should have put out flagmen and warning lights/flares on way down the road on both sides of the highway.
Sounds like a lawsuit to me...
