motorcycle manufacturers stuffing car engines into motorcycle frames

Some motorcycle manufacturers did it.

Brough Superior used an Austin Seven engine on a small dozen sidecar bikes, and the German Münch Mammut had 4-cyl. NSU motors up to 1200 cc in the frame. The outrageous Brazilian Amazonas used the VW engine, while the short-lived French BFG and Dutch Van Veen used an aircooled boxer engine and a liquid-cooled rotary engine from Citroên GS, respectively

inventive home builders have used Nimbus with a Renault engine, which is known as a Rebus, and a Fibus is with an engine from FIAT.
