A police spokesperson said in August that a bodycam on one of the officers during the stop was knocked off the officer's uniform "during the struggle," WAVY reported.
The CPD launched an internal investigation into Wilson's suicide in July 2018. Kosinski confirmed that the department has since concluded that investigation, but declined to comment on its outcome.

Like I've said 150 times before, record the police, your video evidence of their behavior may be the only evidence that makes it to the court room
Anyone that thinks I should not post this, should consider that if I don't post what happens to this young woman, who was someones daughter, and someone's sister, who will post what happens to your sister, or your daughter?
When the police won't do the right thing, and be professional, and only arrest? When they decide they are also the jury and executioner? Then the rest of us must decide if we will stand for the dead, and keep their case in the court of public opinion, to possibly remind mayors, city attorney, county district attorney, governors, and congressmen, that it's their responsibility to see to it that the police dept is held accountable
Reminder, this is my blog, this isn't your car magazine that is out to make money. My blog is my place on the internet to have my say, and though mostly here for you to enjoy, it's also sometimes my place to hold up a sign that says the people in power are corrupt, and need to be replaced, like a diaper, for the same reason.

Hi. I'm from France and i'm always terrified how the news of such things are put under the carpet in the tv news and press in the US. Since months, we got the " Gilets Jaunes " events happening in France. Some street fights with the police resulting with injuries and broken eyes and the news speak about it. And every time, there is a police, a administration and a judical investigation and sometimes even a political one. The way it's happens will fast put the cops suspended and under a trial process. But the major difference is : we got a nationnal police and even municipal police force are under the laws and regulation of the nationnal police. And it's change everything.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I'm very disappointed how low quality excuses they made... shoot in the mouth with hands cuffed behind her back. This is well maybe not impossible, it can be done if someone really, really try and every bricks are in exactly time and place. But it is such lame, poor ass excuse it could be made only by the "sharpest" tool in the box.
ReplyDeleteBut... I can give a 1% doubt. This is so stupid that it could be truth, because some part of me still believe that nobody would made up such idiotic excuse.
There is one problem... where did the gun come from? Hell, I can believe she had a handcuff key, I've got two from finding them in the street. Maybe she had one in her back pocket. But she also somehow found a pistol, and no one has anything to say about where that came from...
Deletethe obvious answer? Cops made sure no one was recording her on video, and shot her to make it look like she put a pistol in her mouth and pulled the trigger.
No one has given any reason she would be shot by police, and no one has given any reason she would suicide.
But nothing gives me any doubt that the cops killed her. And now, they won't release the results of their investigation?
That smells like they're hiding the proof they killed her
Fair point. If they are clean and that was just terrible accident than results of investigation should be fully public. Won't realising it create confusion and suspicion of some foul play.
DeleteSandra Bland. Say no more.
ReplyDeleteYes, I posted her story 4 years ago. I'm not giving up.

Delete"Kosinski said in August that Wilson was handcuffed with her arms behind her back when she got the gun out of the Lexus, "contorted" her body and shot herself in the head." This definitely needs to be taken to court. Even if everything they're saying is true, (which I don't think it is) when someone dies in Police custody its a big big deal. She should not have been left to on her own as they were apprehending the other perp, at the very least locked in the back of the patrol car. Someone screwed up on this.
ReplyDeleteAgree! The majority of LEOs in this country are doing wonderful work under tough conditions, but there is a subset that is basically out of control. They are in most departments and the good guys are doing themselves no favor by protecting them.
ReplyDeleteI think it's more like 50/50. The good cops relinquished their claim to that term, their honesty and professional duty, when they failed to deal with those they know to have committed a crime - other cops, all across the country. As you are probably aware, it's been 14 years since LAPD has even been a defendant for murder. That's the most corrupt, and largest police dept I'm aware of, when you include the cops in LAX. They are no better or worse than any other police dept, I think, though I may be wrong.
DeleteBut no police dept has been in the news for bringing charges onto one of its own that I'm aware of, in the past 20 years. El Paso proves there should be
