Before Star Trek, Cheryl Gates McFadden was more famous for choreography and puppeteering work than as an actress, and was the Director of Choreography and Puppet Movement on the movie Labyrinth

It's interesting to me to see what other work actors have done before they were famous, and Cheryl McFadden used either her first or middle name, Gates, to separate her self from work she thought might flop, like Star Trek Next Generation.

She was in Hunt For Red October, The Cosby Show, LA Law, Party of Five, Mad About You, The Practice, etc
