My coworker just told me that his wife's MGTD has a Moto Meter and they have to watch it because the temp gauge doesn't work. Replacing the capillary tube for the gauge is on their to-do list.
My coworker actually bought the MG for his wife for Christmas a year ago. He wrapped the keys in an MG T-shirt that he gave her as a gift. Then they had to drive the car with no top in freezing weather from where he had it stored to their house about 30 miles away. She has since done a lot of work on the suspension and brakes and drove it in exhibition laps at the Put-in-Bay Road Races Reunion. They are going to install a roll bar and harnesses so she can race it next year.
I don't know if I've told you about this guy before, but you can tell that they are a "DINK" (Double Income, No Kids) couple. They have a fishing boat, single prop airplane from the '50s I think, Model A coupe, MGTD, '70s Challenger, Porsche 928, '90s Lebaron convertible and a couple of daily drivers. He also has a greenhouse with a banana tree, which is pretty cool. He's a really nice guy and all of these vehicles get used during the summer.
