nine scientists have glued themselves to the floor of Volkswagen’s Autostadt visitors center to protest climate change, because no one cares if they glue themselves to a pipeline, oil company business office door, or gate.

the stupid things people do for useless publicity.

  1. Need to make them drop their drawers and glue their naked butts to that floor with some real adhesives!

    1. lol... I just run the story, usually, the headline and maybe, like this one, a line of commentary and let my readers decide if they want to click through or move on. Lol... you committed!
And you made me laugh! Thank you!

  3. It gets funnier, it seems, because according to what I've read, they complained that they were not provided with toilet facilities (you'd think they'd have thought of that beforehand), and complained that they could not order out, but had to accept the food VW brought! One protestor, so I've heard, had to leave because (surprise surprise) his hand started swelling up.

I'm all for protestors' rights, and climate change is a big deal, but some people are really stupid. I think as a minimum, that if you're going to protest something with a scientific element, you ought to demonstrate at least a little ability to think things through, and to know what happens when you do stuff. They're getting publicity, but I don't think telling the world that you're a fool is beneficial to the cause.

  4. Oh, and I just read the full article, and I see they also were upset that they turned off the heating. Hey, this is a protest against global warming. Heating uses some of that energy they're talking about. They should welcome the gesture!
