The Gullwing Mercedes 300SL features 1952 Carrera Panamericana winners Karl Kling and co-driver Hans Klenk. If you look carefully you’ll see a gaping hole in the passenger side of a shattered windshield, thanks to the car hitting a large buzzard while at speed. I believe the 52 event marked the postwar return to racing by Mercedes.
