I only found one interesting vehicle on tonight's walk, and recommend that to prevent boredom, you avoid "quiet communities" which I assure you are utterly boring in every way

  1. Nice '68 Firebird. Looks like it might say 326 on the hood bulge which would make it a V8. No hood tach though. I had a '67 Sprint, OHC 6. My first new car, $2,500 off the showroom floor! Those were the days before inflation hit.

    2. Great first car! How old were you? What did you do with the car, daily driver? Racer? high school graduation? Teen adventures? Pizza delivery? Road trips?

  2. I was 22, just out of school, newly married in first real job. Sold my '57 Olds 88 to buy the F-Bird. Daily driver. OHC 6 w/ 4 spd (or 3? Long time ago!) Loved that car, did a bit of time/distance club rallying with it. Only mods a set of wire basket wheels and Lucas Flamethrowers. T-boned in the passenger side in 1969, total loss.

  3. That OHC-6 was a great engine, I bought a new '66 Tempest coupe with the Sprint Quadra-jet version. Still have the SAE booklet 660126 with 23 pages of pictures, cutaway drawings, dyno graphs, and specs.
