Quite ironic that people in Washington DC are actually taxed and not represented. DC is not a state and is also not part of any state so DC residents have no representation in the Senate. DC gets one representative, although it has bigger population than several states. To make things worse DC's single representative can speak on the floor but she is no allowed to vote for or against bills!
