  1. During the War, we also saved all our aluminum foil. I was three in 1946 when we could still sell aluminum foil for 5 cents a pound. The war ended but the needs were still continuing. Chewing gum was wrapped in aluminum foil. I know, that a lot of chewing gum to make a pound! We also still had ration books in 1946.
