Aren't campus cops (certainly the most highly respected of all police department staff to get assigned to high school) supposed to be on the school property to prevent shootings of students? Then why does Pasco County Sheriff’s deputy threaten to shoot a student for leaving campus to go to a dental appointment? WTF is in the donuts?

The Pasco County School District wouldn’t comment on disciplinary action taken against William, but his mother said he’s not allowed to attend prom with his girlfriend, attend sporting events with friends or watch any of his friends graduate.

Amanda Hunter, a Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, said there is an internal investigation into the actions of the officer, but since there is no criminal complaint, he is still actively working at the school, River Ridge High School in New Port Richey.

The student's mother has filed for a hearing to appeal the district’s decision and wants Bond and the officer held accountable.

“I just feel like if they were all acting like children and my son received that level of discipline, they should, too," she said. “They should both be removed from their jobs.”

The officer’s name is being withheld because “per the Law Enforcement Officer’s bill of rights, the identities of deputies in internal investigations cannot be disclosed.”

Has me wondering, what's the student bill of rights? Do they have a right to not be threatened with being murdered by campus police who clearly aren't fit for duty?

“The behavior portrayed in this video is inappropriate for any person associated with Miami-Dade County Public Schools,” school district spokeswoman Daisy Gonzalez-Diego told The Washington Post in a statement. “The District takes great pride in promoting core values, such as respect and restraint, to students and we expect employees to lead by example.”

Miller said she has filed a professional standard violation with the Pasco Sheriff's Office and also filed for due process with the Pasco School Board.
