Cool things with wheels since 2006
The car is a Ford mark 1 Escort.
is that identical to a Mercury Capri?
No, same as Ford Capri. The Escort is a bit smaller than the Capri. The Escort also came in 4 door sedan and 2 door wagon versions.
No, the Mercury Capri was the Ford Europe Capri. The escort was a very different thing. Great rally car!
Either way, she's short!
No, two totally different cars. The Capri is slightly bigger and was based on the second generation of the Ford Cortina. The mk1 Capri did use the taillights from the mk1 Escort.
I came here to say that looks more like a MK1 Ford Escort than a capri but I can see I've been beaten to it. Still tall though.
It appears to still have the stock front wheels on it. He should have wasted a little more money on it and changed them out too
Looks to me more like a 1971 Ford Deathtrap with the optional squirrelly package. Good Lord that must have been a handful to get down the track.
