A grand jury indicted an Atlanta attorney on charges of murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault after he killed a man who threw a golf ball at his Mercedes Benz.

48-year-old Bryan K. Schmitt was driving past a rental property owned by 60-year-old Hamid Jahangard when his car as struck by a golf ball.

Schmitt told police he saw make a throwing motion as he drove past and turned around to confront him. He claimed that Jahangard threw a trash can at his car, causing him to swerve and accidentally hit Jahangard.

Police found a golf ball at the scene but noted that there was no damage to Schmitt's 2011 Mercedes CLS550.

After reviewing video footage captured from a car driving behind Schmitt, they determined that he drove his car toward Jahangard and intentionally ran him over.
