  1. Noooo! Not a Westfalia... again!

We lived on the nearly flat top of a hill. One eveing I headed out, expecting to find our Westy parked at the curb in front of the house. It wasn't.
"Dad...Where'd you put the Camper??" "Out front as always Jake." he answered with that hint of dad-ness in his voice that said "My Son, The Idiot". But it really wasn't there... Someone had neglected to set the p.brake. It didn't roll immediately. Dad was in the house and unaware of it's imminent escape attempt. We found it quickly tho', not even half a block down the hill, it's back end not quite center-punched by a tree.
No major damage, a couple of days in pre-cartel Juarez and she was good as new... Except the rear hatch never sealed properly and the engine lid hinges gave out early because the back end was never really straight ever again.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk...

    1. I love ted talks too, but better than that is the story you just shared! Damn, it's pretty eerie to know your vehicle was EXACTLY in a location, and not find it there when you go back to it... and suddenly that feeling of dread, and mind spin of "where's my car?" Wondering if it has been stolen! It happened to me last week... I did not remember parking a block away, as one block looked identical to the next
