no reason to be in a hurry to start a tractor, I suppose, but the Field Marshall may have the most steps, and longest procedure, of any tractor ever... although this Bulldog takes longer with fewer steps





and wow, designing the steering wheel to be detachable and used as the crank handle? That's smart!

  1. My Granddad had the tracked version of the Field Marshal (called a Fowler) on his farm in Scotland. I remember the starting procedure with the lit paper, but he started it with the hand crank instead of the cartridge method (cartridges cost money laddie!;-) ) That tractor's main function was ploughing using a 3 furrow plough.
