I had to get the map out, dang it eyes have gotten too old,but I think it's a town by Chester Ca..Alamer?..Lake Alamonor.. Anyways many years ago my wife or /and a girlfriend stayed at a little motorcourt as you showed. It was the 1st time I had ever seen a stove/oven/sink combination.. I thought it was so cool. I'm sure it wouldn't pass all the safety crap today: Do not use this in the bathtub while using electric hair dryer...etc....etc... Shoot it may have even had the fridge connected...Too long ago.. Thanks..
When I was growing up in the 1950's my mom and dad would stop at places in New York state that looked like the log cabin ones and the white cottages. Good memories.
I stayed at this most original motel in Houston.admiral motel houston tx 77009.What a time warp and they only took cash. Should be a national monument.

ReplyDeleteThere's an Austin Bantam in the photo at Huntington Beech, a tiny car for a tiny house.

ReplyDeleteWow... I'm surprised they are still in business, decades after similar motor courts have disappeared! Thanks!
