Imagine Documentaries is developing a docuseries on the BabyRace Driver Academy, “the prestigious Italian go-karting program that serves as the first step for exceptional young drivers aiming for Formula 1 stardom.”

Emmy winner Miloš Balać (Welcome to Wrexham) will serve as showrunner

Imagine Documentaries’ Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Sara Bernstein and Justin Wilkes are executive producers along with The Washington Post.

Baby Driver: The First Step to F1 “will follow the young competitors, ages 8-12, as they fight to win the World Series of Karting,” notes a release. “Their lifestyle is like no other: kids and their families arrive from all over the globe and employ a traveling entourage of coaches, sports psychologists, social media managers, photographers, and more.”

The release continues, “The show will capture the intensity of the academy’s training environment, as drivers from all over the world — including Texas, France, Scotland, the UAE, Thailand, Kenya, Italy, and Spain — come together to race on Italy’s iconic tracks."
