Louisiana Attorney General has stated that more than 4,000 tickets have been issued illegally by Ward 2 constable Ron Tetzel. Doesn't that seem like a hell of a lot of illegal actions by a law enforcement officer, that the AG would also mention that the constable was fired? But he wasn't.

rather than installing speed cameras and conducting enforcement as laid out by the law, he went vigilante and used a tripod, hat, safety vest, a hand-held radar gun, and a portable LIDAR gun that records drivers’ license plates around Lukeville Elementary School without the framework outlined by the law.

The law requires an agreement between the company operating the cameras and the municipality breaking down the revenue share between them

the constable allegedly suggested terms that would have kicked 10% of the revenue to the school board, with the 45% being split between the local municipality (in this case, the Ward 2 constable and justice of the peace) and 45% to the camera contractor.

That's a simple money maker, it's got nothing to do with enforcing the speed limit. A couple cops STANDING in the area giving speeding drivers a dirty look does more to "enforce" a law by getting people to slow down in a school zone.

But cops will not do that.

Crossing guards have more courage. No one will deny that.
